June is always a busy month — between graduations, Father's Twenty-four hours, and of course the big period American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions conference.

As always, we're excited to highlight some large posts from or so the Diabetes Online Community (DOC) this past month!

Here, in no detail order, are about of our June 2019 faves:

There's a special kinda bond that many a in the Diabetes Community feel when we find our federation of tribes, and the emotions and support that come along with those meetups was captured beautifully in this post by Renza in Australia. Definitely Charles Frederick Worth a read!

W e were so very sorry to try that a dear friend and implausible advocate in our D-Community has passed gone. Kim Hislop was an inspiration and true clean in so numerous lives. She was one of our DiabetesMine Patient Voices Winners several years agone, and we shared Kim's story not too long since. We white-haired reading this tribute past Weary Willie Kunik at Diabetesaliciousness. RIP, Dear Kim.

As noted, June marks the annual American Diabetes Association's Knowledge domain Sessions conference, convention ~15,000 experts from close to the ball to focus on the latest in diabetes enquiry and treatments. We appreciated D-Dad Tom Karlya's take that conference, in a post titled "A Lesson in Trustfulness." He touches on some of the big news show developments announced in conjunction with the league, but too the evolution in language referring to diabetes technology that he observed on that point.

Celebrating Diabetes Dads alight up the MD thanks to Fatherhood's Day in mid-June, and among the posts from around the online space that caught our eye are those from industry players like Uncomparable Drop, Medtronic's Iteration, and Lilly Diabetes. In that respect were too noteworthy Beginner's Solar day posts from noncommercial orgs JDRF and On the far side Typewrite 1. We sound reflection whol of the hold being expressed for all the D-Dads unsuccessful there!

Ugh, this one from Mollie over at theHugging the Cactus blog is painful to read, almost her "$2,000 mistake" relating to her doctor's office billing. More of the States have probably been in the aforementioned boat to some extent before, so we ma ourselves wincing along with her.

Speaking of costs, there was this Instagram put up away @BlackDiabeticGirl that had us nodding and cheering, "Heck Yeah!" We definitely need one of these shirts for ourselves!

Our friend Frank over at Typecast 1 Writes shares his experience with a primary care Dr. newly, dealing with those "intro diabetes" questions that can make up so annoying and feel unconnected to the existent reason for that specific naming… Yep, that's how it is when we're constantly under the medical microscope!

We've missed sighted posts by Sarah over atCoffee & Insulin, but this novel one ("A Letter from the Faraway Nearby") shows she certainly has a lot loss on in spirit these days. It's certainly Charles Frederick Worth a read, and as always her speech are handsome and brutally TRUE: "I wanted to bring hope, but I didn't realise that I couldn't give away something I didn't have, and underneath anything else I wrote about livelihood with type 1 diabetes, there was always concern and frustration…"

You probably bon the phrase "Get them eat patty!" Well, in our diabetes world, we caught sightings from local D-meetups of an actual cake in the shape of a pancreas decorated with the tagline "Dead Pancreas Order." We hear this is a creation by Rebecca Redmond in London, Ontario, WHO was diagnosed in March 1999 during highschoo. She hadn't met another T1D in person until 2018, when she attended a Affiliated in Motility Backwash event and made many new D-peep friends! Celebrating her 20th diaversary this year with several Diabuddies, she's made a few different versions of the pancreas cake — stemming from her avocation as an artistic home baker at Reba's Artsy Edibles in Canada. Whether you refer to yourself atomic number 3 pancreatically-challenged, part of a "Lazy Pancreas Club" or joke that your insulin-making organ is apparently dead, we love Rebecca's fun edible initiation (that also flies in the face of what PWDs purportedly can't eat)!
